Should I Bring My Dog to My Kitchener-Waterloo Engagement Session?

It all depends on the kind of photos you’re envisioning!

Are you dreaming of intimate, romantic portraits with just you and your partner? Or are you looking to include your furry best friend in family-style photos? When you bring your dog along, the session tends to shift from a couple-focused shoot to more of a family portrait vibe.

But here's the good news—you can absolutely have it all! If you’d like a mix of romantic photos and some with your doggo, a friend can help out by entertaining your pup during solo shots and keeping them focused (with some treat bribery) while you take photos with them!

How To Prepare For A Great Engagement Session With Your Doggo:

  1. Arrive early – Give your dog time to explore the location and burn off some energy. Typically, you'll want to arrive at least 15 minutes early!
  2. Bring treats and toys – These help keep your dog focused and engaged during photos.
  3. Bring a friend – Extra hands will help manage your dog and assist with solo shots. (Trust us, bringing a friend is key to a stress-free session with your pup!)
  4. Waste bags – Help us keep the location clean for everyone.
  5. Bring water – Keep your dog hydrated, especially if it's warm or they love to run around.
  6. Change of clothes – Be ready for muddy paws or unexpected messes!

This will ensure a fun and smooth session for both you and your doggo!
